WELCOME TO ELIZABETH JANE PHOTOGRAPHY!
Art is an expression to me of the things I enjoy and the way I choose to represent such things. I have always wanted to capture images I could love no matter how tastes change and images that would elegantly speak for themselves and stand out on a white wall. Any photograph can speak volumes and many can silence viewers just as easily. In general I prefer photography as my art, although I love other mediums as well, and enjoy making pieces that any person would love to hang on their wall and be proud of owning. Everything from wedding day portraits, black and white still life images, to the small grains of sand in a landscape photograph have such captivating presence. I take this attitude and apply it to all my photography whether it is the peaceful landscapes or the photo-journalistic snapshots of a wedding. So much happens in our lives and photography allows us to freeze and capture a moment we might have missed of forgotten to treasure along the way.
I am inspired by the work of Michael Kenna, Edward Weston, Annie Leibovitz, Dorothea Lange and so many other photographers. I love the history of art and all that it brings to where we are now and how we capture the beauty around us.
I received a Bachelor of Arts in Photography and a Minor in Business from California State University, Hayward and truly enjoyed studying photography and different forms of art. While in college I worked as an assistant and second Wedding Photographer from 2002 to 2004 with a local Bay Area photographer. Since then I have been working on my own and the skills that I learned from that experience and my education have helped shape how I view wedding & portrait photography and how I aim to capture the important real moments as they happen.
